2025 NFL Draft Prospect: Logan Jones
Iowa OL Logan Jones (65) - University of Iowa Athletics
RUNDOWN:
Logan Jones is a 6’3 295 pound center for the University of Iowa. Now going into this third season as the starter, he’s played his way into being one of the better center prospects in the 2025 draft class. Jones is an interesting case because he’s a converted defensive lineman that began his college career in that side of the ball. At any level, you don’t typically see that transition, but especially in the B1G. However, Jones made the transition seamlessly and is in the midst of a 26 game consecutive start streak.
After a stellar 2023 season, Jones was named All-B1G. Coming into the 2024 season, he’s been named a preseason All-B1G center and a preseason All-American by Phil Steele. Iowa isn’t particularly known for their offensive production in terms of scoring, but they’re traditionally vaunted for their offensive lineman and tight ends. Jones has filled those shoes and is now one of the next in line for the Hawkeye lineman legacy.
As a professional prospect, i think we’ve seen an uptick in the emphasis on centers. While they’re still not usually first round players, we still had three go in the top 51 picks of the NFL Draft in 2024. Even without being drafted that high, teams are looking for quality swing players and in some cases starters well into the fifth round of the draft. Jones is certainly a player that will get well deserved draft hype throughout this season.
