Emeka Egbuka is a 6’1 205 pound wide receiver from Ohio State University. Going into his fourth season in Columbus, Egbuka found his way onto the field as a true freshman for the Buckeyes. While only playing in four games, he made his mark in the Rose Bowl that also served as a coming out party for future first round picks Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Marvin Harrison Jr. He then followed up that showing by having one of the best seasons in the illustrious history of Ohio State football.
As a true sophomore, Egbuka went for 66 catches for 1039 yards and 11 total touchdowns. Keep in mind that this was alongside the aforementioned first round picks at wide receiver. He had five games with over 100 yards, ending the season with 17 catches, 235 yards, & two touchdowns against elite defensive units Michigan and Georgia. Going into the 2023 season, many scouts and analysts had him as the number two receiver in the class behind his teammate Marvin Harrison Jr.
While the 2023 season didn’t go as planned largely due to nagging lower body injuries, Egbuka still registered 35 catches for 452 yards and 4 touchdowns in limited game action. Despite those injuries and stunted production, many still believed him to be a surefire top 40 selection. To the shock of many, he elected to return to the Buckeyes this season to not only improve draft stock, but to pursue a national championship.
