Rack Tracks Vol 1: Verone McKinley III
The Pulling Guard exclusive with Arizona Cardinals SAF Verone McKinley III
When I started The Pulling Guard, I wanted to have a space where I could not only talk ball, breakdown film, & provide scouting reports - I wanted a space to blend my interests. One of my biggest passions aside from football and sports in general is music. If you’ve ever competed in sports at any level, you know how important music is to routine. Whether it’s a pregame ritual song, a traditional stadium intro that everyone knows, or a celebratory theme song after a huge win, music is ever present.
Arguably, there’s no time where music is more important to an athlete's routine than during the offseason. The six month grind in between playing seasons is monotonous and challenging. The right soundtrack can help power you through your workout. It also can bring out your personality in a way that’s unique to your taste. I’ve made a lot of friends in the sport throughout my playing career and my time in media. What better way to combine the two than to have some of them share their personal playlists for the offseason grind?
Rack Tracks will bring you an exclusive playlist from current, former, and future football stars. Up first is former University of Oregon Consensus All-American and current Arizona Cardinals safety Verone McKinley III. Going into his third season in the NFL after two years with the Miami Dolphins, McKinley is in the process of priming himself for his best season to date. Here’s the soundtrack that’s fueling the offseason work for the Cardinals DB.
