Rack Tracks Vol 2: Jordan McCray
In the second installment of Rack Tracks, we’re highlighting UFL IOL Jordan McCray of the Memphis Showboats. McCray played college football at UCF where he was voted a team captain and a First Team All-AAC selection. McCray anchored the offensive line that led UCF to one of their greatest seasons ever in 2013 that culminated with the AAC Championship and an upset in the Fiesta Bowl over Baylor. McCray’s twin brother Justin also helped lead the way with the offense that featured Blake Bortles and Breshad Perriman.
UCF OL Jordan McCray (63) - UCF Athletics
Post UCF, McCray has had one of the most interesting professional careers in football history. After going un-drafted in the 2014 NFL Draft, McCray was signed by the Green Bay Packers. After a stint with the Packers, he was then signed by the Panthers. After two years in the NFL where McCray played with the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Cam Newton, he then joined the AFL where he and his brother teamed up to play again. Both becoming All-AFL players & both earning NFL opportunities again.
This is also where Jordan and myself cross paths. In 2018, we played a season together for the Baltimore Brigade in the AFL. I can confidently say that beyond being a hilarious guy and a great teammate, he’s one of, if not THE hardest worker I’ve been around. That work ultimately paid off when he was signed by the Chicago Bears in 2019. Post Bears stint, McCray went on to dominate in the AAF, XFL, USFL, & is now a member of the Memphis Showboats. He was All-AFL, the highest graded OL in the AAF, All-XFL, & a USFL Champion.
It’s safe to say he’s done it all at the professional level. As he continues Year 10 of his professional career, check out the music that fuels his game-day and weightlifting routines that keep him sharp.
