Top Transfer Portal Defensive Lineman Keeshawn Silver Headed To USC Trojans
Kentucky transfer defensive lineman Keeshawn Silver has been projected to sign with and take his talents to the University of Southern California. Sliver, a 6-4, 335-pounder is a former five-star recruit ranks as one of the top defensive linemen in the portal according to all major recruiting sites and is projected to be an NFL Draft pick be renowned analysts.
The news comes as a major win for coaches Lincoln Riley, D’anton Lynn, and Eric Henderson. The Trojans have lost 19 players to the transfer portal during the winter window according to CBS/247Sports. One of the major losses was interior defensive lineman Bear Alexander who is still courting universities and taking visits across the country.
The addition of Silver is huge win for the Trojan defensive line who also added five-star lineman Jahkeem Stewart from the high school recruiting class. Silver posted 26 total tackles, 23 solo tackles, and one sack for the Kentucky Wildcats this past season in the SEC. Silver has 46 total tackles for his career and is regarded as one of the better run defenders in the portal despite not having gaudy raw numbers. The toughness and identity that the Trojans defense has been trying to establish gets a well-needed boost.
